On Tuesday and Wednesday evening, Micah Richards was back on American TV screens as he covered the Champions League semi-final first legs for CBS. Micah was alongside Kate Abdo hosting, Roberto Martinez and Jamie Carragher. As always it was a fun, light-hearted show that brings out the best in the pundits for the viewers to enjoy.
The first semi-final saw Chelsea travel to Real Madrid. Chelsea started strong and got off to a fantastic start with a first ever Champions League semi-final goal for an American as Christian Pulisic opened the scoring - to the delight of CBS' American audience. Real Madrid then worked their way back in to the game and Karim Benzema, their talisman, equalised from a corner in the first half. The second half was a cagey affair but left a mouthwatering tie heading back to Stamford Bridge for the second leg next Wednesday.
The second game saw PSG host Manchester City in the Parc des Princes in a mouthwatering tie. Pitting the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar against Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden and Ruben Dias was always gonig to produce something special. PSG start incredibly strong and controlled the first half and went in at half time 1-0 thanks to a goal from their captain and talisman Marquinhos. The second half however saw a complete shift as Manchester City took over and dominated from start to finish. They scored two fortunate goals as a Kevin de Bruyne cross evaded everyone and sneaked in to the far post, before Riyad Mahrez's free kick went straight through the PSG wall and past Keylor Navas. Pep Guardiola's side take a strong 2-1 victory back to Manchester but anything can happen in the Champions League.
